FULL MOON GATHERINGS IN ADELAIDE


Once in the month,
and better it be when the Moon is full ...

The Temple of the Dark Moon commenced hosting Full Moon gatherings in the Adelaide area. The first such Gathering took place on 6 March 2004 at Grange Beach with 12 people braving the wind and the cooling temperatures to attend - including one interstate visitor. An account of the first Gathering can be read about.

Regardless of whether you are new to Paganism and the Craft, are curious as to what exactly Pagans do, or have been follower of the Old Ways for a number of years, the aim of these Gatherings is to create a friendly environment to meet like minded people, share knowledge, and generally for all participants to have a good time.

All the Temple of the Dark Moon asks is that you come with an open mind and mutual respect for other participants.

Venue:
The Full Moon Gatherings will be held in Grange Beach (meeting place being the grassed area next to the Grange Jetty) at 8.45pm during the Summer months (November to March) and at the Botanic Park (meeting place being at the Conservatory Gate of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens (Hackney Road entrance) at 7.45pm during the Winter months (April to October) - subject to availability.


On occasions other venues may be used, so please check this page prior to attending the Gathering or contact the Temple of the Dark Moon during the week before.

What the Gatherings will consist of:
Each Gathering will be unique in its structure and content. Depending on the experience of participants, the Gatherings could include formal circle casting (from various Pagan traditions), invocation of elemental quarters, invocation to a specific Lunar Deity, meditation, chanting, energy raising techniques, dancing and a lot more. Contributions from those participating is encouraged.

What to bring:
Yourself, an open mind and a willingness to participate. As these Gatherings will be held in public places - normal street clothing is more than appropriate.
