WorldSock - How to use Internet Explorer 4.0 with WorldSock

How to set Internet Explorer 4.0 to Browse in a new process.

To reconfigure Internet Explorer 4.0 to begin a new process when the Web Browser is launched, follow these steps:
  • 1. Locate the Internet Explorer 4.0 Icon on the Windows Desktop

  • 2. Right-Click the Icon and choose Properties

  • 3. Select the Advanced Tab

  • 4. Enable the "Browse in A New Process" option as shown in the following figure:


  • 5. Press the OK Button.
When this change has been made, you will be able to run Internet Explorer 4.0 on WorldSock even if the Desktop Component is still installed. However we do recommend disabling the desktop component as the best solution to this problem.

Note that MurkWorks provides a program, setupie4.zip that will automatically make the above changes when executed.
You can either follow the manual configuration steps listed above, or execute the setupie4 program to enable the "Browse in New Process" option.
